Johal & Co's expert Family Team offer committed, confidential specialist advice, representation and support in dealing with all types of family cases; including Children's matters. We will listen to and consider all aspects of your case and explore with you the best way of resolving your problems.

We offer fixed fee initial consultations and Public Funding (legal aid) for those who are eligible. Urgent appointments can be made at short notice.

We are able to represent parents, grandparents, step-parents and other family members or related individuals in all Children's proceedings. In our Family Department the Partners have extensive experience in Care Proceedings and dealing with Social Services. We can assist in urgent cases too and attend Child Protection Conferences with you.

We understand that you will require sensitive, timely and specialist advice and at Johal & Co our Childcare Law specialists are able to provide this. Not all cases go to Court, it may be possible to resolve your matter through negotiation or conciliation and we can undertake these on your behalf; or it may be that we advise you that it is necessary to issue Court proceedings to achieve the required result for you and we shall then deal with this for you.

Our Family and Childcare Team comprises Partners, Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors and paralegals in order that we can specialise in all aspects of Family Law. We understand the stress, anxiety and upset Children's cases can cause and therefore aim to support you through the legal process with detailed specialised advice and representation. We know how such cases can affect you and your family and we seek to ensure all aspects of your case are fully explained to you at all stages.

We assess eligibility for Public Funding (legal aid) at the outset of every matter and review this if your circumstances change. If you are eligible for Public Funding, as we hold a Public Funding Franchise for Family work, we can grant you Public Funding (legal aid can depend on your financial means and the merits of your case). Full Public Funding is usually available in Care proceedings for all parents regardless of financial means
